Learn everything you need to know about Object-Oriented Programming in three days of hands-on practice.

This course is taught by Sandi Metz, author of Practical Object-Oriented Design in Ruby and experienced programmer TJ  Stankus.

Using guided exercises, we'll demystify time-tested OO techniques. You'll write code, learn to recognize and solve common OO problems...and return home to save money each time you put your hands on the keyboard.

Join us in Durham in October and change the way you think about objects. Your code will never be the same.

The course is in downtown Durham, NC in the beautifully renovated MDC center. According to the New York Times Big Tobacco is dead but Durham is the new cool.

The course normally starts around 9am so if you're coming from out of town, you'll want to come in the night before. Class normally ends at 4pm on the last day.

The closest are Unscripted, a boutique hotel and 21c Museum Hotel, a boutique hotel,  is almost across the street from the MDC Center. The Marriott City Center, just a bit further, is a 3 minute walk from the MDC center. Aloft  Durham Durham, in the heart of the American Tobacco Historic District is just a 5 minute walk to the MDC center.

Fly into Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU). Taxi fare to downtown is $30-$35. If you stay downtown you will not need a car.

Bon Appetit magazine describes Durham as the 'Foodiest Small Town In America'. Restaurants in Durham range from the sublime to the extremely local Dame's Chicken and Waffles. We'll provide coffee, lunch and snacks, and you'll be on your own to explore for breakfast and dinner.

It was intense, challenging, and radically expanded my view on programming. The most important thing you provided was a language of context for good programming.
