Learn everything you need to know about Object-Oriented Programming in three days of hands-on practice.

This course is taught by Sandi Metz, author of Practical Object-Oriented Design in Ruby, Tom Stuart, author of Understanding Computation, and Avdi Grimm, author and Head Chef at Ruby Tapas.

Using guided exercises, we'll demystify time-tested OO techniques. You'll write code, learn to recognize and solve common OO problems...and return home to save money each time you put your hands on the keyboard.

Join us in New York City in October and change the way you think about objects. Your code will never be the same.

The course is in Brooklyn at 68 Third Street. Located in Gowanus, the building is easily accessible by public transportation, just off the Carroll Street stop on the F & G lines or the 4th Avenue or Union Street stops on the R line.

Around the course location, there's a Holiday Inn Express and a Comfort Inn. There are also plentiful upscale accommodations in nearby Downtown Brooklyn such as Aloft or Nu Hotel.

We recommend flying into either LaGuardia Airport or JFK Airport. You can take public transportation or a taxi, around $50. If public transportation is your thing, there are good options from Newark Airport.

There are plenty of great restaurants near the course like Buttermilk Channel and Battersby (among others) as well as  cafes Runner & Stone and Momfuku Milk Bar. There's also a Whole Foods just a few blocks away. We'll provide coffee in the morning along with lunch and snacks. You'll be on your own to explore for dinner.

Applications are now closed.

It was intense, challenging, and radically expanded my view on programming. The most important thing you provided was a language of context for good programming.
